CATSS

Campaigners Against Two Silica Sites (CATSS) is a local group of campaigners that came together to fight against a massive Silica Quarry that was threatening our local woodlands and Fens, around Marham and Shouldham.

My role was to look after all the communications required to help raise awareness and publicise the very real threat of this proposed Quarry to the local public. To ultimately stop this quarry from going ahead.

I came up with the name of the group (CATSS) and also created the logo. I created all the newsletters, postcards, flyers and handled all the social media to help spread the word and to mobilise the public to back our campaign and when the time came to it, object to NCC (Norfolk County Council).

Using stock film and photos I created a campaign film (see below), helped to organise Press coverage when various peaceful protests were organised at Shoulhdam Warren. We also encouraged our local MP (before becoming briefly our PM) to show her support. We managed through all our hard work as a team to encourage 5,000 objections to be logged and have (for now) stopped the proposed Quarry plans from going ahead.

CATSS

I created this campaign short film with the aim to engage the public to make sure they submitted their objection to the quarry and why we were fighting so hard to protect our local woodlands and nature surrounding the Fens in West Norfolk.
